10 Days History & 2020 Vision
The Background: 10 Days is a movement of corporate humility, prayer, fasting, and repentance by the Body of Christ. The 10 Days of Awe comes in between the Jewish Feast of Trumpets (Rash Hashanah) and the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) in the Jewish month of Tishei, which means to be "weighed". This Jewish practice is similar to Paul’s exhortation in Ephesians 5 to walk circumspectly. This affords us a corporate period of humility and prayer. Since 2004, it has grown to 70 cities involved in this global initiative.
Ultimate Vision: Our vision is to see cities pause for 10 entire days to humble themselves repent and seek His face in preparation for the Lord’s return. Beginning with those who know Christ and are willing to set themselves apart for prayer and fasting.

The 2020 Vision From Founder: Jonathan Friz: Two thousand years ago there were 120 believers gathered in a room awaiting the promised power from on high as the Church was launched in Jerusalem. They worshiped, prayed, fasted and set themselves apart for what was coming, which they did not know of yet.
Two thousand years later and modeled after this Acts 1 event we are seeking the Lord to raise up 120 cities/regions who seek to participate together during this time. Different geographic locations but just like Acts 1 to be of one mind and accord. The expression of how this is being done in each city will vary, but the theme and time frame are the same.

10 Days In the OMC for 2020: This is the third year of the OMC participation in the 10 Days of Awe facilitated by the OMC 5-Fold. This year we will have four 1 hour prayer events daily (6AM, 12PM, 6PM, 12 AM) beginning at 6AM on the 19th and ending at 12PM on the 28th. These one hour sessions will be facilitated by the OMC 5-Fold and will center around a theme for each day. We believe the overarching theme during these 10 Days this year is humility, first individually and then corporately.
We are asking participants to fast through lunch during the daily 12PM prayer watch for each of the 10 days. You may choose to fast more often as you are led of the Lord.
